Founders memoir

 Two women found themselves drawn together by a shared passion for food and a deep-rooted love for the African heritage. Know more of the profiles of  Ceci  and  Nini Brenda, the dynamic duo behind the African Cuisine Festival.

Nini Brenda Sulamoyo-Ruebush is an International Development Expert who has 30 years of work experience; 27 years in the Education and Youth Sectors of Malawi Government and she has 3 years of Teaching experience in New Mexico. As an International Development Expert, she is so passionate about sharing ideas, borrowing
best practices and replicating them where they can be accepted and embraced. She is a very cultural oriented person who loves to learn about other cultures. She has identified food as a fundamental element of any culture as it defines a culture even though some foods may be common across cultures.Nini is so excited to be a part of the organising committee of the first ever ‘African Cuisines Festival’. It is time to showcase the variety of foods that feed the African continent in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Nini Ruebush

Ceci Tadfor, was born in Cameroon and she has made Santa Fe, New Mexico, her home for over 25 years. A culinary enthusiast, she shared her passion for African cuisine as an instructor at Santa Fe Community College for over 5 years. She also established her own culinary venture, ‘Ceci’s African Kitchen’, where she delighted
patrons with flavours from her homeland. Ceci’s expertise culminated in the publication of her cookbook, “Ceci’s African Kitchen: A Chronicle of Cameroonian Cuisine and Culture.” Beyond the kitchen, Ceci is a dedicated advocate for the disabled community.


She founded the ‘Ceci Tchakounte Tadfor Foundation’, a nonprofit organisation focused on educating, promoting, and supporting individuals with physical disabilities in Cameroon and Nigeria.
